There is no better time than in 2018 to get a mobile phone if you are in the market for a new device. Both the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are just over a month away from an unveiling in Barcelona and we pretty much have a solid idea of what to expect.

Maybe some of you are on the fence when it comes to getting your next smartphone and are a bit confused about what to buy this year.

The iPhone X, Note 8, Galaxy S8, and Pixel 2 are all excellent devices worthy of a hardware upgrade and shouldn’t be overlooked.

The upcoming Galaxy flagships from Samsung will no doubt build upon its predecessors bringing with it much needed improvements on the already near perfect current gen-devices from Samsung.

We are expecting a better product with a handful of hardware updates which could potentially make these phones the best for the first half of 2018.

One of such improvements is leaning towards the camera department.

This year the Samsung Galaxy S9 will come with a single 12-megapixel rear camera, while its larger and more robust sibling comes with dual 12-megapixel rear cameras with an aperture of F/1.5 and F/2.4, allowing for better image quality.

Similar to DSLR cameras, Samsung will still allow users to manually adjust the settings.

We are also expecting IP68 protection, 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch Curved Super AMOLED screens, QHD resolution and a better fingerprint sensor placement as seen in the leaked image above from the website Weibo.

To help combat Face ID found on the iPhone X, no doubt that Samsung will make improvements to is Iris scanner on the next Galaxy flagships.

Reports have swirled the company plans to increase the megapixel count in the iris scanner to 3 from 2 while also featuring 3D depth-sensing facial recognition.

This will allow for better detection in low light conditions and improved user detection.

With more RAM, and a new Snapdragon 845 CPU, we can fully expect the price of the device to either stay the same or more than likely increase.

For the average user, it would be a safe bet to wait until what Samsung unveils next month before deciding to buy the new devices. There are still plenty of great phones on the market that are more than capable of handling all that you can through at them.

But if you are craving the latest and greatest that tech has to offer, then the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ may be what you are looking for.
