The future of cars is electric! And it seems it’s going to turn to reality soon! At CES 2017 expo, we have an electrifying news coming from Faraday Future as the company pitches a straight head-on competition to Elon Musk’s Tesla, by announcing its”first of a new species” Faraday future FF91 electric car.

During a dedicated event at the expo, Faraday’s senior vice president of R&D and engineering, Nick Sampson took center stage to bring the audience with this magnificent piece of four-wheel beauty.

Sharing his vision for making Faraday future at the forefront of the future automobile industry, Sampson says “we have moved from the idea of a company to a company with fully functioning beta vehicles. We have to flip the automotive industry back on its head, break it down and build it up the way it should have been in the first place, independent of fossil fuels.”

Here is a quick introductory video for the elegant automobile before we take you to the further technicals.

Jaw Dropping Performance Figures

The FF91 sedan from Faraday Future comes with a superior 1050 horsepower engine with over 1800 Newton Metres of Torque. These figures are stellar while comparing to most of the luxury sedans available in the market, and that too on an electric power machine.

The car features a super-quick traction control and can hit the speed of 60mph in just 2.39 seconds beating the Tesla Model S by a minuscule, which hits the same speed in 2.4 seconds.

With machine-learning tech put at the car’s brain, the FF91 itself adjusts the car’s performance based on your driving style and the road conditions.

Autonomous Driving and Driverless Delight

To bring in autonomous driving to the core with extreme precision and accuracy, the car comes with multiple sensors to watch and read the road. The Faraday Future FF91 comes with 13 radars against Tesla’s one, ten outward facing cameras against Tesla’s eight and 12 ultrasonic sensors same as Tesla’s twelve.

One of the most distinctive features of the FF91 is a little disc that pops out of the hood featuring a 360-degree “3D” Lidar Sensor.

The company has put unique features called as “driverless valet” at the core of the car’s brain. This means that wherever you go, the FF91 will drop you at the main door, search for space and park itself. The self-parking feature was demoed at the launch. Take a look at the below video

The FF91 comes with 130 kilowatt-hours of battery capacity enough to take you to a 378 miles journey on a single charge with EPA adjusted. At a comfortable cruising speed of 55mph the company claims a range of above 400 miles.

The company is said to be working on DC quick charging stations with a capacity to load power up to 200 kilowatts – much above Tesla’s 120 kilowatts. Moreover, the company is also said to be working on other wireless charging alternatives.

Comfort and Connectivity Options

The FF91 comes with a “zero-gravity” back seats offering up to 60-degrees of reclining for a comfortable journey. Moreover, there are dedicated HD screens for every individual within the car. It also features several modems and Wi-Fi hotspots.
