Nival is the portable washing machine that’s supposed to clean small articles of clothing while saving energy.
It’s a small pocket-sized device that works by agitating the water which is meant to simulate hand washing.
While it won’t get out the toughest of stains from your clothes, it’s okay for smelly and slightly dirty shirts, socks, hats and so on. It is far from a full-fledged washing machine. It’s more like a travel companion which you would use while away from home, traveling.
The major selling point here is the convenience. Knowing that you have a device which can wash your clothes while you’re out on the road is a bonus for some people.
Sure you can simply catch some water, grab some soap and get down the old fashion way in a bucket, but most of us are either too busy for that or just don’t want to.
Live on Indeigogo with just about 18 days left in the crowdfunding campaign; Nival manages to surpass its crowdfunding goal of $20,000 with many backers.
I managed to give Nival a run through while getting so, so results. Like I said earlier, this device is best for the lightest of jobs as It can’t deal with tough stains.
I would take it with me on a camping trip or be backpacking through some remote country because It’s better than not having anything at all. You just need to make sure you have a power source with enough juice for 30 minutes of run time.
Starting at $99 USD, you’ll have to decide if Nival is worth it depending on your needs. It’s not a game-changer by any stretch, but instead a potentially useful piece of tech to always have.
I’m assuming that Nival is still in the prototype stage because the unit came without a retail box and no instructions.
Take a look at the video below to see it in action.
